Sudokus are not just 9 x 9

There are also 4x4, 6x6, 12x12, 16x16, 25x25 and 36x36....and even bigger.

Sudoku Magic is designed to generate unlimited sudokus in these sizes that are uniquely solvable and can also provide solutions to these sizes as well.

Sudoku Magic is also the official website of the SDKM format for Sudoku transmission via the internet and for sharing sudokus (iana.org registered).

Enter and solve your own sudokus!  Print Sudokus too!  Save them!  Send them to your friends!  See who can solve a sudoku the quickest!

Developer tools such as a Web Service and a DLL, both providing full functionality, are also available for developers who want to develop thin clients.  Currently the DLL is available for the Windows platforms.  The Web Service can be used on any platform with internet access.

Many more features will be released shortly.  The SudokuMagicWFE program will keep you up-to-date.

If you have questions, comments, or feedback, you can send them via email to us at the address below:

Teachers/Beginners/Experts - Kids/Adults

Teachers or Beginners can learn to solve sudokus using the 4x4 or 6x6 sudokus. These are good starting points. You can even print them out and work them on paper or give them to your kids to solve as "bonus" program for doing their homework. Sudokus exercise the mind both mathematically and logically. They can help develop thinking and creative use of the sudoku magic program allows teachers and parents to help improve logical thinking among kids.

Adults will find hours of challenging fun and accomplishment from the sudokus. A hint scheme has been implemented that allows the user to see possible candidates or full solutions of puzzles. Have a difficult sudoku to solve. Enter it into the program and it can give the solution. Remember that NOT ALL sudokus are uniquely solvable (in other words, they may have multiple solutions). The sudokus generated by SudokuMagic are UNIQUE.

Unlike many suodku programs, SudokuMagic generates dynamically all of its own sudokus. Given the possible number of sudokus it is highly improbable that you will ever see the same sudoku twice (except in the 4x4 and 6x6 which have fewer possibilities).

Sudokus can be saved to disk in the SDKM recognized format. Sent to friends for challenges. Loaded again later when you have the time to finish them.

EXPERTS can move up to the VERY challenging 12x12 and 16x16 sudokus. Partially solve the sudoku and use the Candidate Viewer to check your candidates and solving powers.

Sudokus are challenging...

The 12 x 12 format of Sudoku Magic uses the characters "1-9" and "A-C". These sudokus are more challenging and take much longer to solve. Experts who can already resolve 9x9's with ease, should move up to this format.

Sudoku Magic generates unlimited numbers of challenging sudokus in this format that are all uniquely solvable. The rules for solving are exactly the same as with other sudokus only characters are now involved as well.

Once you've mastered these, you should move up to the 16x16. This format includes the characters from "0-9" and "A-F". The 25x25 and 36x36 are not available in SudokuMagicWFE program although they are already supported by the engine. We just haven't figured out the best character sets to use for these. Feedback would be good. We are thinking that 25x25 will use "A-Y" and 36x36 will user "0-9" and "A-Z". It's what we are testing now, but anyone with good ideas...let us know.
